Adam: Has worked for Spencer Hair Company for 5 years. As a hairdresser he has trained very closely with Garry Spencer and during his time with the company he has built a loyal clientele. Gemma: Is the latest addition to the Hill Street hair salon team and was chosen for her cheery and vibrant personality in addition to her excellent hairdressing skills. Gemma excels in all aspects of her hairdressing including cutting, colouring and bridal hair.
Garry himself also works in this salon and has done so for the last 18 years. In this time he has built up a strong and loyal client base. Garry loves his time cutting and colouring in the salon and is never happier that when he is creating and working alongside this fantastic team at Hill Street.
 Human Hair Extensions
We offer the finest quality in human hair extensions and we tailor the hair to each individual client’s need. We weave our extensions on a weft, which is a lot kinder to the hair, so the hair lasts longer and is a lot easier for the client to maintain at its best standard. We can use extensions to add volume to the hair, giving it more body and movement, as well as adding length.
We also offer European hair and we welcome you to come in for a consultation where we will listen to your hair needs and advise the best solution.
A member of our staff has been specifically trained in the Ionic Hair straightening process by JHR. Feedback from our clients tells us that after the Ionic Hair Treatment, the condition of the hair is much improved. Thick course hair is left manageable, shiney, soft and silky and lighter. Our clients also tell us that after Ionic straightening, blow drying time is cut by half. We have had feedback from clients who have used the Yuko process and they have indicated that this is a much harsher process which can burn the hair at the ends.  Director Garry Spencer works from this salon and it has special significance for him.
‘I used to come here for my hair cut when I was a kid. It was my ambition to buy this shop when I grew up. We’re still not sure about the grown up - but I bought this as my first salon when I was 24 and that set me on my way’.
Chiropody Treatment
Within the salon we offer chiropody treatment. Michelle Taylor is a fully trained Chiropodist, gaining her BSc in Podiatric Medicine at the well renowned Durham University. Michelle has worked for Scholl and now provides a comprehensive range of chiropody services. These include hard skin, corn treatment, ingrown toe nails and bio-mechanics.
